How I would use this calculator
Use it when the usual “two fingers” advice feels too vague. Enter the area you want to cover, then treat the result as a starting amount, not a perfect rule. A small face, a beard, a high-neck shirt, or sunscreen that pills can all change what feels realistic.
I would measure once or twice at home, notice what that amount looks like in your palm, and then use that memory on normal mornings. If the number feels surprisingly large, that is useful information too. Most people under-apply sunscreen without meaning to.
Small sunscreen notes
- Apply more carefully around ears, hairline, neck, and the sides of the nose.
- Use a separate body sunscreen if a face formula feels too expensive to use generously.
- Reapply after sweating, swimming, towel drying, or a long outdoor stretch.
